I thought I would discuss a bit more on the karma based on what I blogged at https://www.mayoan.com/post/49-the-field-of-karma .

A cause (karmic load) and a trigger (event) is needed to generate an effect. The cause and trigger or the chain reaction of these creates an effect or a group of effects on an individual or a group or both.

The effect by itself cannot be a cause or karma again. Besides being end results or Phala (fruits of actions/thoughts), this effect can also be an action or thought by an individual or group or both. Again, besides thoughts expressions/emotions can also be end- effects. The thoughts had to be out of free will.  Only these expressed actions/thoughts/expressions/emotions get converted into karma again.

The effects of actions are tangible to everyone. But, what about the effect of thoughts and expressions/emotions? How can these generate karma?

An individual upon experiencing the Phala of a karma can –

1.      Physically react in someone(action)

2.      Start crying out of pain (expression)

3.      Get angry and his face may contort (emotion)

4.      Receive cash in his account

5.      He may become happy upon receiving the cash

6.      Feel a shock that he assimilates inside

Let us look at each of the above samples and think about the possible outcomes. Please remember that other outcomes are also possible. But the idea is that the effects need not be always an action or chain of actions. It can also be thoughts and expressions that may have potential to generate additional actions that may lead to new karmas being generated or old karmas being expended.

1.     Since this was a physical action (setting a garland or beating) on

somebody, new Karma is expected to be generated/expended.

2.     His crying draws the attention of near-by ones and further karma may be

generated/expended.

3.     His facial distortion out of anger causes resentment that was noticed by

others and further chain of events may be expected thereby

expending/generating new karma.

4.   Receiving of cash is an end-effect itself. But independent action of

spending of this cash can expend/generate further karma.

5.     A happy state of mind is the end Phala of a cause and a trigger and may

not generate additional chains of actions.

6.     A shock assimilated inside may not generate/expend additional karmas as

a chain reaction.

Similarly, we can analyse and dissect all the group actions and its results.

The effect as actions/emotions/expressions can end by itself as an end Phala or may generate additional actions/emotions/expressions as a chain reaction.
