My Perspective on the Capital Punishment

It has been the practice since the dawn of civilization, that severe offenders of the state were put to death by the state after the legal proceedings.

Sometimes the crimes are so abominable that, to assuage the public feelings, and to reduce the angst, unbearable pain and sufferings of the public mindset, capital punishments are considered as the only just way.

Before I talk about my opinion on the capital punishments, I would like to point to the concepts of the value systems in general – https://www.mayoan.com/post/7-about-the-value-system .

Also, we should be more aware of the soul impressions that transcend over several births and forms.

I quote from the above article the following sentence - Sometimes, one's individual value system can be so diabolical and fully aligned with evil that he will disregard any and all other value systems present in his living context. One such example of such a flaw is the emergence of a psychopath.

In such a case as above, we have to understand that, sometimes our conventional ideas, about a troubled past or a traumatic childhood being the reason for the devil in the psychopath to arise may not hold water anymore. Such a psychopath may remain a constant threat to the society, and the legal proceedings and public critical analysis of the case may only amuse him to no end!

Having said that, I have the following opinion about the capital punishments:

1.      Capital Punishment should be pronounced by the state in the just and proven cases only. It can be accompanied by additional punishments like chemical castrations (say in cases of rape and murder).

2.      But I believe that, the execution should be carried out only by the divine will. Till the divine will carries out the capital punishment, the criminal should be confined in the prison. He should be treated in a bare minimum and basic ways only and the society should not incur too much undesirable cost in maintaining the confined criminal.

3.      In an iron-clad constitution, consisting of the 3 pillars – democracy, aristocracy and theocracy, the democratic wing consisting of the legal systems is expected to pronounce the capital punishment in the just and proven cases, and the theocratic systems consisting of the supreme religious authority or the religious council should take steps (prayer to invite the wrath of God on the evil soul and also to assuage the troubled minds of the general public) to see that the divine will is imposed on the evil soul sooner than later and to calm down the troubled minds of the general public!

4.      We should remember that, in most of the advanced civilizations, we have the concepts of both the warrior Gods and the wisdom Gods! Sometimes great evils are contained/eliminated by the warrior Gods! While the bliss, peace, wisdom and truths are persisted by the wisdom Gods, order and justice is primarily enforced by the warrior Gods in its efforts to contain evil manifestations! Whether the divinity decides to invoke the wisdom Gods or warrior Gods should not be a matter of concern for a peace-loving common public man, but whoever manifests as part of the great divinity’s plan, we should be welcoming them with our steadfast faith and prayers!

The great divinity invokes the wisdom and/or warrior Gods at the right time and in the right stage and those Gods in turn operate by the principles of - management by objectives (like being born as avatars with stated objectives) or management by exceptions (like executing a state prisoner or when an individual/group karma reaches undesirably high states). The business as usual state is handled by the highly complex and extraordinarily intelligent "Law of Karma".

5.      As per the perspective mentioned in the above point,  I do not believe that any kind of religious support should be provided to a psychopathic killer. This is because – we cannot send out any signals to the public that the law of karma is lenient and can be placated on behalf of an evil soul.

6.      It is very difficult to erase karma with just simple wishes. Please refer to my article - https://www.mayoan.com/post/57-some-simple-ways-of-expending-karmas . An evil soul may be given this knowledge about the law of karma but not anything else. For an incorrigible and evil soul, even our sincere attempts to instil faith may become just a time pass or an amusement! We should be mindful about that. With the knowledge provided about the law of karma, the evil soul is expected to learn about the redemption all by itself and hence its confinement (sometimes solitary) in the prison may help.

7.      Sometimes, the evil act may be so despicable that the divinity may execute the evil soul before it reaches the redemption in the prison!

8.      Please remember that a martyred revolutionary fighter in a local context may be viewed differently in a global context and may be viewed entirely differently by the divinity and wisdom/warrior Gods from a universal perspective!

Please refer to the article in the references section; It is heart breaking to see the data on death among the other lives on earth.I quote from the article :

Figure 1: A boxplot showing life expectancy as a percentage of a species’ maximum lifespan for 152 populations of fish (n=16), birds (n=54), mammals (n=72) and reptiles (n=10). Life expectancies were calculated from models found in the COMADRE database (Salguero-Gomez et al. 2016), and maximum lifespans were obtained from AnAge (De Magalhães et al. 2005). Across major vertebrate classes, most individuals live to only 10-30% of the age of the oldest known individuals of their species.

For Gods - this may be the most pressing problem on earth - more than the life of an individual revolutionary fighter!
