- 76. Motifs - From Order to Chaos
When we, the humans, are into realms of creativity, we give much importance to money matters – ROI, Cash Flow, Net profit etc., This results in sub-optimal use of the universal resources and creates a disorderly wake/shudder and wasteful motions in the general direction of progression! Consider this in the logical and physical sense of our efforts towards in pursuit of excellence: 1. Human settlements such as cities – We see imperfections all around us – city plans, infrastructure, road plans, ring roads, transportation centres, living centres giving rise to inferior quality of lives for not just humans but also to other species, exploitation of resources, decadence related to singles and groups etc., Coupled with suboptimal quality of life, other issues such as corruption, irregular processes, job market conditions for new and experienced, a general sense of being lost etc., show up on all sides. 2. Knowledge related: Patronage to arts, crafts and creative talents is relegated to the back. Even if the student is from STEM background, securing a matching and just job is a challenge. This along with the state of affairs where the entry to job market is stiff (education is expensive) and exit from job market is also stiff (ideal retirement remains a pipe dream) creates frustration and impacts the very foundations of having faith in good things like God, religion and in being a good Samaritan. 3. Impact to in-pursuit of excellence: Since the overall quality of life is affected, the state of all humans in-pursuit of excellence is not good. Any thing goes! Quality of exertion, learning, outcomes, remuneration, great commits, faith, kindness, sympathy, empathy erc., are greatly affected. There is a great deal of insensitivity in the group population. Insensitivity leads to sub-optimal selection of choices and related overall suffering. So, when we integrate the singles as a group population, metrics like that of the NGO transparency international is quite appalling and creates a sense of dejection and despair! 4. If a great percentage of population is insensitive and untruthful, the antagonist begins to win and hence only those in control of wealth or power or position or similar will be part taking of the happy fruits of life! Some areas of chaos in humans’ lives are as follows just to shift our focus in the right sense: Designing and implementing internet (grids/networks/junctions) Alignment of education to job markets Designing and implementing power grids Our lavishness with entropy, waste, disorder, heat etc., Traffic management Citizens being not aware that they are subconsciously supporting rampant consumerism and completely avoiding the principles of just (not minimalist but just) living. Flow of money is haphazard Flow of resources is haphazard Species other than humans are getting a raw deal More number of relationships are awkward Faith is a business commodity Getting rich quick is everyone’s objective Everybody wants a luxurious life without being mindful about the concept of ‘Praptham’ Trust is hard to find Love is a convenience Increase in layoffs, M&As, rampant outsourcing/off-shoring without thinking about people and their families and the related state of shock of those who were laid off. Food security is relegated to a secondary or more positions as compared to business opportunities and import/export business returns Etc. On the contrary see how the divine Adi Para Sakthi handles the canvas of creation, stages and actions: A place for everything and everything in its place Everything, like water, finds its balance Every flow of energy is a stroke of genius (snowflakes, rainbows, rains, light, reflection, spheres and spheres all the way down and up in the cosmos, nature, Prakruti, soul and its purpose, law of karma, in pursuit of excellence of all living things!) Efficient use/reuse of concepts, colours, frequencies and constructs Her ecstasy in applying the concepts of geometry, colour, symmetry, balance, motifs, patterns, science of lean is mind boggling and educating experience Universally enforcing the concept of ‘Vashudevakudumbakam’ Universally enforcing that everything has a reason and everything happens in time Her rewards and recognition program and the corollary programs of remorse and retribution! Establishing a unshakable faith in all of us that – ‘SHE IS THERE’ for us! We need high quality political (prime ministers and presidents etc.,), social (kings, governors, queens etc.,), business (CxOs, boards, committees etc.,) and spiritual (Gurus, popes, acharyas etc.,) leaders to the reach the efficiencies and effectiveness of the divine Adi Para Shakthi in our own sphere of influence. Not only that, but the citizens of the world will also have to think outside the box to separate the noise from the signals of life and we need to remind ourselves that change is the only constant and that both the interests of a single life and the various groups depends a whole lot on our collective endeavours! - 75. Meditation Techniques for the Young
I came across a fact that I read about in media which states that an average person may need more than one lifetime to finish viewing all the videos present in youtube.com . We have to put such a platform to good use. From where I come from, and which is considered generally true, In the past, grandmothers used to recount fantastic stories to the grandchildren. While ‘listening’ to stories, the young children vividly imagine the scene on their own terms. This helps in visualizing abilities and build their imaginative and creative traits. Nowadays, the parents quickly click a link and show the story as animations. The creative activity inside the child’s brain is content enough to accept what the animation director visualized! As the trend goes, if grandmothers are not part of ‘nuclear’ families anymore, I prefer the class teachers to tell these stories in an slow and expressive manner. We have to encourage simple meditative techniques to our children. These meditations should not be stressful and should not be more than 10-15 minutes in a single sitting. These need not be done on an everyday basis too. If possible, as teachers, create a scoring program during the meditation sessions, so that not only progression but any hurdles and blocks can also be tracked. I hope, you get the full picture as you read and complete this blog and can improve to include many other things too that you are aware as a child psychologist or as a mindful teacher or as an intelligent concerned good samaritan. 1. Meditation to increate focus By constantly chanting mantras, like ‘Om’, (long duration, deep bass and slow as in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sYK7lm3UKg&list=RD8sYK7lm3UKg ), the mind learns/starts to stay focussed. Another technique is ‘flame watching’. (as in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj2OgVEJe8M ) . Please note that it is ok for the child to blink once in a while if he is unable to watch the flame in an unblinking mode). But the flame has to be from a candle or oil lamp and definitely not the electric ones. Use a scented candle if possible to improve the experience and make sure the child is not stressed. 2. Meditation to increase listening abilities Focussed story telling sessions can help in improving the listening abilities. Also use music with lots of sweet intonations. From the many tones from several instruments used in the music composition, ask the child to detect the sound of a particular instrument. Introduce the tone from that instrument before the session starts. You can also have a scoring system (like the child presses a key every time he/she hears the tone in the composition) to track progression. Also, listening to music is soul healing exercise. I still remember the tunes that positively affected me when I was a kid. But make sure you use a very hi-fi music system with high clarity and resolution. 3. Meditation to increase sensation of seeing There are videos with fractal patterns supported with music that can kindle the visual part of the brain of the child. But this should be subtle and gentle and should not create aggressiveness or agitation as in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ouG6L-2L3Q . Also, there are large, puzzling arts that hide definite shapes and objects in it and the child can be tasked to find them. 4. Meditation to increase perception and 3D Watching a live drawing session with light and shades of a room with sharp perceptions/projections is a meditation too. This should increase the perception of 3D objects, guessing distances between objects and in understanding the play of light in generating shades. Also, the kids can be taken to places like fairs and museums that have things like convex/concave mirrors to produce distortion (and laughter too), mystery room that apparently increases or decreases the size of objects or persons etc 5. Meditation to increase the sensation to smell Scented candles, incense sticks used during meditation session definitely helps in this effort. Besides, kids can be introduced to different kinds of acceptable smells within limits as a classroom exercise. I wish there are classifications like that of taste to classify smells. As a corollary, the kids can be introduced to the 6 types of tastes and may be made to know about common foods that carry them (please refer to https://www.mayoan.com/post/48-food-as-a-sattvic-constituent ). Please remember that as a cognitive trait, we may close our eyes when we try to detect sound, smell or taste. Let the child appreciate this trait which is nothing, but nature induced focussing or meditating on a particular sensory perception. The children can also be shown pictures of food and ask them to identify the flavours of each food items. 6. Meditation to increase the speaking abilities Ask the students to read aloud in the classroom sessions. Classic literature carrying popular stories can be used for this. 7. Meditation to increase the sensation of touch The students should know the shapes (2D and 3D) by touching it and made to talk about it briefly. They should know properties like fine, coarse, rough, smooth etc., They may see a portrait in 2D and can made to close the eyes and feel the bust in 3D and compare the 2D perception to 3D. As a corollary they can be shown pictures of shapes that is present in nature or about videos of men/machineries producing those shapes. 8. Meditation to increase creativity Ask the students to tell the stories from their minds in an expressive way. At critical places, aid in visualization by showing pictures to them in a subconscious manner. They can act too, as they tell the stories. The good old drawing/colouring sessions can aid in this effort. They can also be introduced to colouring wheels. The children should be shown pictures of plants and trees, and they should identify the name. They should also identify it when they see it in real. (Eventually the kids should be well versed in picking medicinal wild plants if they go to picnic in a park!) Copyright © 2023-2048 Vijayabhaskar Natarajan. All rights reserved Hari Om!
- 48. Food as a Sattvic Constituent
As a seeker, I wanted my readers to be aware of the inputs to their system. These inputs may be food, friendships, relationships, other interactions, media, books, music, movies, TV etc., Maintain top quality in all your inputs to develop not just intelligence and knowledge but also more sensitivity and humaneness which I think are fundamental traits of a good spiritual person. I want to write about the ‘FOOD’ as an input to my system. I am from India and hence I may be a bit biased in my food related writings since I come under the influence of food culture of India. But the idea is to take the learnings and interpret it in your own context. The first thing I want to emphasise is the idea of the ‘STAPLE FOOD’. Wikipedia definition for the term staple food is – ‘A staple food , food staple , or simply staple , is a food that is eaten often and in such quantities that it constitutes a dominant portion of a standard diet for an individual or a population group.’ Let us consider the staple foods of India: Wheat Rice Pulses (such as chana or Bengal Gram) Lentils (dal) Whole-wheat flour (aṭṭa) Pearl millet (bājra) Vegetables Dairy products Spices 8 out of 9 of the above staple food is plant based. Let us consider the staple foods of a standard western economy: In Western Europe the main staples in the average diet are animal products (33 percent), cereals (including wheat and corn) (26 percent), and roots and tubers (including potatoes and yams) (4 percent). From the 1st link, I extract the below text: Just 15 plant crops provide 90 percent of the world's food energy (exclusive of meat), with rice, maize and wheat comprising 2/3 of human food consumption. These three are the staples of about 80 percent of the world population, and rice feeds almost half of humanity. Though a vegetarian, I am not an avid proponent who asks people to avoid meat eating. I think meat-eating is an experience that many people enjoy. But if you want to excel as a spiritual person, at least take some steps to reduce meat consumption. To this effect, the definition of the STAPLE FOOD should be changed after due consultations with experts representing different cultures of the earth. I, for one, believe that STAPLE FOODS are PLANT-BASED primary foods that are consumed in large quantities. Other foods like meat, and other animal produces are only supplementary to the primary staple foods. I can go through the Indian cuisine a bit to explain this concept. Primary Staple Food: RICE: I am quoting from the 3rd reference. Today we still have about 6,000 different varieties of Rice in India, but environmentalists estimate that we have lost tens of thousands of indigenous Rice varieties in the last 40 years. Nevertheless, the variety of Indian Rice varieties is the highest globally. WHEAT: I am quoting from the 4th reference: To cater the need of each agro-climatic condition and cultural conditions, around 294 varieties of wheat have been released and notified by the Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops (CVRC). Similarly, around 154 wheat varieties released by the State Varietal Release Committee (SVRC) were notified under section 5 of Seeds Act, 1966. So far, 378 bread wheat varieties, 59 durum wheat and 7 dicoccum wheat beside 4 triticale varieties have been notified (Table 1.3). So, we are essentially counting about 448 varieties of wheat . Similarly, we have an astonishing number of varieties in all the staple foods that are plant based in India including protein rich pulses, lentils and vegetables! Coupled with a deep immersion in spiritual realm as guided by their ancient masters/gurus, the food culture has evolved to be refined and sophisticated. And by the way, India has the highest number of vegetarians among its population. I am quoting from the 5th reference: The vast majority of Indian adults (81%) follow some restrictions on meat in their diet, including refraining from eating certain meats, not eating meat on certain days, or both. However, most Indians do not abstain from meat altogether – only 39% of Indian adults describe themselves as “vegetarian,” according to a new Pew Research Center survey. The full course is laid out something like this – (Please refer to the 7th reference.) Main Course in a typical lunch (Breakfast and dinner may contain a host of many other varieties called ‘tiffin varieties’ - please refer to links below for more information): Rice based (boiled white rice, red rice, flavoured biryani rice etc.,) (Many more varieties) along with any currys/food-potions as given below in detail. Request for additional portions of boiled rice as necessary when the lunch is in progress. Rice is mixed with the varies curries/food-potions for consumption. Wheat based (roti, chapati, naan etc.,) (Many more varieties) Request for additional portions of above breads when lunch is in progress. The breads are teared and dipped in curries for consumption. Curry: Vegetarian: Any pulses/lentils based, or vegetable based (see below) Non-Vegetarian: Any meat based but primarily they are chicken, sheep, goat, fish and some sea foods. (Please refer to links about Indian Cuisine to know the types of meats consumed) Beside the main dish and curries, Vegetables, eggs, desserts, other food-adjuncts are also present. Sometimes mango (1500 varieties!) and banana (15 – 20 commercial varieties and many more!) are also included in the full course meal. I quote the below from a popular portal given in the 9th reference. A typical South Indian lunch might include: Rice : The staple of the meal, often served with ghee (clarified butter). Sambar : A lentil-based stew with vegetables and tamarind. Rasam : A tangy, spicy soup. Poriyal : Stir-fried vegetables with spices. Kootu : A thick stew made with vegetables and lentils. In South Indian cuisine, a typical meal is designed to balance six distinct flavors: sweet, salty, bitter, sour, astringent, and spicy. This balance is believed to promote overall health and well-being. Here’s how these flavors are typically realized in a South Indian lunch: Sweet : This flavor is often represented by dishes like payasam (a sweet pudding made with rice or lentils, milk, and jaggery) or banana slices served at the end of the meal. Salty : Saltiness is a fundamental flavor in most dishes, but it is particularly prominent in pickles and papad (crispy lentil wafers). Bitter : Bitter flavors are usually introduced through vegetables like bitter gourd (karela) or dishes like neem flower rasam . Sour : Sourness is a key component in dishes like sambar (a lentil-based vegetable stew with tamarind) and rasam (a tangy soup made with tamarind or tomatoes). Astringent : This flavor is often found in legumes and lentils , such as in dal (lentil curry) or kootu (a vegetable and lentil stew). Spicy : Spiciness is a hallmark of South Indian cuisine, with dishes like spicy chutneys , curries , and poriyal (stir-fried vegetables with spices). *The sources given above are raw foods. we have to also consider the cooked foods that is coming out of these raw foods. A typical Indian full course meal covers all the 6 types of tastes deriving from the concept that I mentioned earlier in one of my blogs – ‘Food as Medicine’. The 6 basic flavours identified by Indian food cuisine are – Sweet, Sour, Salty, Pungent, Bitter, and Astringent. It is widely believed that a balanced intake of these 6 flavours daily will have a medicinal effect on the whole body. All the regional variants of cuisines of India tries to present these 6 flavours in a full course meal or by daily intakes by properly deploying the food-aids like spices, onions, ginger, turmeric, asafoetida, garlic, shallots, other condiments, etc., and other composite ingredients like curry/masala powders. May be, food-experts can take a deep look into the Indian Cuisine and understand the philosophies behind it and how it is mentioned in Ayurveda. Then steps should be taken to spread the various staple foods seen in India but not seen anywhere. Together with less meat consumption, a high quality food input can do wonders to your body and soul! - 74. The Seat of the Soul
We know that the body has a place for the soul. For those animals, with a spine, the seat of the soul can be anywhere from the base of the spine till the crown. The chakra system may also vary from being rudimentary to advanced. For unicellular beings, the soul can be inside the nuclei and for the tree, soul can be somewhere in the main trunk possibly near the base and so on and so forth. For humans, there are 7 major chakras where the soul can be positioned. Out of the 7, the top 3 are temporary locations for humans engaged deeply in the worldly affairs. In humans the ideal place for the humans for the soul to reside is in the heart chakra. Some transcendental meditation practitioner may move his soul along with the Kundalini sakthi into the temporary locations, viz the top 3 chakras. This may be part of his mediation routines to perfect his spiritual experience or as a sadhana to develop new capabilities. When such a person is ready to leave the world or when is ready for the grand merge, the soul and the kundalini sakthi together may exit his human body through the crown area. A super soul is born if the soul exits the human body, at the time of the death, from any of the top 3 chakras. In fact, if the intent to merge was predominant, the soul exiting via the crown experiences the grand merge and is not coming back! Another important observation about the seat of the soul is on the form itself. If the soul is powerful enough to require a large body but is basal and rudimentary, residing somewhere in the basic chakras, the form taken by the soul can be that of a wild animal. On the other hand, a powerful enough soul capable of taking a human body but with impressions matching that of an aggressive person, may take the human form with his seat of soul being in the lower chakras and this person, born thus, is likely to be aggressive with lot of insensitivity and lacking empathy. When a human soul is connected to the higher chakras, we get what we term it as 'Aathmadehavathigal' (energy loyalists) or something similar to the term 'holy ghost' where the chakra system is in advanced and well developed state. On the contrary, if the human soul is connected to the lower chakras, we get what we term it as 'Dehathmavadigal' (mass loyalists) or something similar to the term 'zombies' where the chakra system is not advances and is in a rudimentary state. The strength of the bond between the soul and the body leads to other important observations. This bond is the strongest when the soul is connected to the body in the basic chakra areas. Such a body (like that of the wild animals) possesses qualities like size/speed/strength and attributes like ferociousness/being territorial/being self-centred etc., For a good-hearted human, this bond between the soul and body lies at the heart chakra and may not be that strong like that of the soul of the wild animal, and this makes his core strength lie in the intellectual space and not in the physical space. His well developed manipura chakra can also lead to the development of strong will power to learn and excel. A studious student is expected to have a strong well-developed manipura chakra. Alternatively, a dull student who can meditate and strengthen his manipura chakra can become studious eventually! A human with the soul in the heart area, may be warm to others exhibiting qualities like love, mercy, kindness, empathy and more. He may have other attributes like inviting others to share his territory and his joyous life styles, playing music just to make others happy or being delighted to cook dinner for others! All these observations are a very generalized empirical observations and we may easily note the exceptions. For example, we have intelligent animals like dolphins and dull headed humans with rudimentary intellectual capability. We may have animals that love us and birds/insects that hate us! What is evident by this is that the various permutations can combinations of souls, soul qualities, residual karmic loads, runanubandha, divine interventions, favourableness of eco-systems with some matching species (not to mention Her eagerness to reuse, to repurpose, to create motifs, to recycle, to use patterns, to use symmetry, to use balance etc., ), the urgency experienced by souls to take births, etc., present us with a bewildering range of enormously diverse set of species just in this earth realm! Multiply the above complexity with 3 of the 5 Panchabhootas - earth, water and air - we have additional life forms with new capabilities. Since "Fire" is considered an ultimate purifier, no life form may exist inside it. Thus the Panchabhoota that is considered much more subtle than fire - 'Space' (where in even the ultimate purifier is not existent) in its purest form may not have life forms inside it. Thus, it is an interesting hypothesis that any life form may need earth, water or air or any combinations and permutations of the above mentioned 3 Panchabhootas only. - 73. Kundalini Yoga
We already discussed about the 4 marghas or paths to realize the ultimate truth. They are as follows: 1. Karma Yoga is where we attach the importance to the action or actions in our work life. The philosophy that is attributed to is ‘Work is worship’. 2. Gnana Yoga is where we attach the importance to the pursuit of gathering knowledge and intelligence. This includes gaining knowledge about ‘Brahmavidya’ or ‘The science of gods or the knowledge of the ultimate reality’. 3. Bhakthi Yoga is where we attach the importance to worship and devotion to God and to the ultimate reality. 4. Kriya Yoga or Kundalini Yoga or Raja Yoga or Transcendental meditation is the path where we gain experience (post acquiring the required knowledge of the ultimate reality) by both efforts - the upward traversal of the kundalini sakthi through the 7 major chakras (journey) situated along the spine of the human body and by knowing the ultimate reality (destination) and coming into contact with the eternally divine and blissful Adi Para Sakthi. There are 2 concepts tied here. First, experiencing the ultimate by transcendental meditation and second, merging with the ultimate at the time of death called as 'Mukthi' or 'The Great Merge' or 'The Great Liberation'. Unfortunately, the chakra systems are fully developed to an advanced state only in humans and not in the animal or plant kingdoms. Even in humans, there are some (like Rishis and Maharishis) who have very advanced chakra system and there are some (like hunter gatherers of the past) who have a primitive rendering of the chakra system. We have seen in one of my early writings as how the chakra system and the modern Maslow’s hierarchy are related in an interesting manner. It is considered that for the unawaken soul, the Kundalini Sakthi lies at the base of the coccyx like a coiled serpent waiting to be raised up. We have seen the below in my earlier writings – 1. The brain centric physical body through the Karmendriyas experiences the contact actions on itself. 2. The heart centric ghost body through the Gnanendriyas experiences the feelings and emotions. By this, the outer physical body also experiences some effects like laughing, crying etc., 3. The Pranamayakoshana inside the astral body experiences the tanmatras (these tanmatras are like common denominators of similar experiences happening in all souls in all life forms) 4. The Karanashariram or the soul (also store house of all the impressions that was picked up by it in its journey through possibly several life forms) lies beyond all these experiences. How does one experience the presence of soul and its state? For this experience we need deep insights into Brahmavidya and the knowledge and practice of Kundalini Yoga. Where will the soul lie w.r.t to the chakra systems? For advanced ‘good-hearted’ souls, the likely place of presence of the soul is the solar plexus or the ‘Anahata chakra’ or the ‘heart chakra’. For somebody rudimentary (like some wild animals) say lacking empathy/sensitivity, the soul is likely to be present in some other chakra below the Anahata chakra. I take my knowledge gathering endeavours (by book, music, talks, meditations etc.,) quite seriously. While at my due diligence, I try to ‘connect the dots’, ‘solve the zig saw puzzle’, ‘complete the incomplete aspects’, ‘complete the missing part of the pattern’, ‘fill in the missing pages’, ‘investigate like how Mendeleev tried to complete the periodic table’ etc., The key is not to rush to conclusions but to be patient and wait for the right clues. Here is where being a polymath helps – you may get the clues from any field of knowledge areas that you may come across as a polymath! Based on the above thoughts, I believe the below aspects are true. The soul present in the Anahata chakra is considered to be in its natural state. This is because the awakened and raised Kundalini can be rested here. By default, the chakras are in closed state and while you are meditating on the chakras, they may open. But after the meditation state, it goes to closed state again. Say, a person is attempting to experience the soul and its state by the Kundalini Yoga. 1. If the person, is ‘good-hearted’, he may not have much difficulty in raising the Kundalini Sakthi from the base to the heart chakra in his initial attempts. 2. If the person, is a bit basic and rudimentary, he may not be able to raise the Kundalini Sakthi much. 3. The difficulty encountered in raising the chakra is called as ‘Knots’ or ‘Granthis’. These knots are to be resolved by carefully curating the soul by practising yoga, exercising good deeds/thoughts, performing selfless services, through devotion and by the practice of Kundalini Yoga (a.k.a Raja Yoga, Kriya Yoga etc.,). 4. In ‘Lalithasahasranama’ , there is mention about the 3 granthis lying on the path of the kundalini sakthi trying to travel upwards along the spine. (please see the reference) 5. Above the heart chakra, there are 3 main chakras – Vishuddhi chakra or the throat chakra, Ajna Chakra a.k.a ‘the third eye’ and the Crown chakra or Sahasrathalam or Sahasrahara. 6. The Kundalini traversing to these chakras (Visuddhi, Ajna and Crown) will enable a person to reach the higher levels of Maslow’s hierarchical constructs. This happens in a deep state of meditation and once the mediation is over, the kundalini now falls back to the Anahata chakra and rests there. It will not be returned to the coccyx once raised. Please note that even without the raising of the Kundalini Sakthi, some people may have a feeling that they have reached the top levels of Maslow's hierarchy. But I believe that the same higher level experience may become a profound and deeply enriching soulful experience if those people successfully practice Kundalini Yoga! (something like observing the snow versus observing the snow flake under a microscope!!) 7. While, passing through the chakras, the kundalini sakthi makes the person equate to or understand the relevant experience of current or past lives stored in the soul as impressions. 8. Points 6 and 7 are corollary. i.e you are developed and/or you may recall/enhance the developed states present already. 9. When the Kundalini sakthi reaches the crown, the person may experience euphoric bliss which is supposed to be the default state of being of the great and divine Adi Para Sakthi. This Kundalini Yoga is not for the ordinary and definitely not for kids. Please refer to the book by ‘Gopi Krishna’ where he has explained other physical and mental traumas while practicing the Kundalini Yoga. It has to be done only with the spiritual guidance of a master. You may consider taking it up after you have passed some considerable time in the Grihastha phase. Since this practice makes you observe your self as a third person and analyse yourself, there may be some effects like the tempering of the animalistic sex drive. - 72. Runanubandha
The explanation of Runanubandha from the reference given below is: The concept of runanubandha suggests that every individual we come into contact with has a karmic tie to us. These associations may be either favourable or negative, depending on the nature of the activities that we have taken in the past. As an instance, we could have good connections with those who have assisted us in the past, whereas negative connections may exist with others whom we have caused damage to. I believe the concept of runanubandha exists not just in a physical sense but also in other areas such as – - Sharing of karma - Triggering of an intuition or an emotion - Triggering of thoughts I always have this notion that we should be mindful about whom we are accepting help from including friendships, monies, jobs and favours. This is because of runanubandha. I have been awestruck considering the astounding ways in which the divine Adi Para Sakthi is weaving the stage for the expending of karmic debts by the zillions of souls in this universe. I have also considered about her penchant to create motifs, reuse, recycle, follow patterns, honour symmetry and balance, to use the least charge of energies possible to support a manifestation etc., So it is highly possible that she uses runanubandha as a means to arrange souls in proximity to expend karmas. Consider the following scenarios: 1. In one of the lifetimes, a lady (soul with less karmic intensity) in order to gain wealth willingly becomes a consort to a mafia person (soul with high karmic intensity) and sustains this relation for a prolonged time. Though the lady did any do any crime on her own, the runanubandha between them can be expected to drag this lady’s soul into all the contexts/realms where the mafia person’s soul travels till the karmic debts are settled! Her act of receiving illegal money from the mafia person tied to criminal activities can push her soul into deplorable conditions. At the same time, her acts of compassion during the same lifetime may offer some protection to her soul. Her resentment to continue this relationship, her act of repentance and discontinuing the relationship and possibly some of her acts of positive karmas may redeem her from this runanubandha. 2. Say in one of the lifetimes, a noble sadhu (soul with high karmic intensity) employs a cleaner (a soul with low karmic intensity) to clean his mutt. The cleaner may be uneducated and earning paltry sum. Let us assume that this cleaner has spent considerable time in this work. Because of this runanubandha, the sage’s soul is expected to drag the cleaner’s soul wherever he goes in his next births till the karma is expended. Fortune may favour the cleaner and he may be born into a rich family or become an educated person in his next life because of this runanubandha with the noble sage. So I request the readers to be aware of this rub-off effect and protect yourself from any potential harm in this life time and in the others that may follow. - 71. My Perspective on Jyotisha Sastra as a Body of Knowledge
Let me start with a disclaimer - I am not an expert on Jyotisha Sastra. I am just looking at the mammoth volume of information originating from this body of knowledge ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jyoti%E1%B8%A5%C5%9B%C4%81stra ) and I am unable to dismiss it as some kind of fiction. I think this body of knowledge needs to be looked at with all the seriousness it needs to understand its relevance better. Astrology, as a body of knowledge, is as ancient as once can think of. It is said that once upon a time, Sage Parashara looked about the skies and sensed the signal for a profoundly auspicious time. He immediately spoke to a fisherwoman who was helping him cross the river and requested to help to conceive a child on this auspicious time – a child that can benefit the mankind for eons to come! Thus, was born Sage Veda Vyasa who organized Vedas and who wrote Mahabharata that is serving mankind with divine intelligence till today. Originally astrology is part of Vedas itself and was called as Jyotisha. If we consider the parts of Vedas or Vedangas – the parts are listed as below, and some context is added from the references listed below: 1. Shiksha - Shiksha is the study of phonology, phonetics, and pronunciation. 2. Chhanda- Chhanda deals with the analysis of the types of meters used in the construction of various Vedic hymns. 3. Vyakarana- Vyakarana deals with Sanskrit grammar or the analysis and decomposition of words, word formation, root words and complex sentence structures, providing useful insights into the usage of words and sentences leading to the mastery of the language. 4. Nirukta - Nirutka deals with the etymological interpretations or explanations of obscure words especially those found in the Vedas. Technically it deals with the difficult and obscure words of a dictionary, whose analysis and interpretation is vital to the study and understanding of the Vedas which are replete with mysterious symbolism not usually understood by all. (Remember from Lalitha Sahasranamam - that even a single long word can be broken into several types of fragments giving raise to different interpretations!) 5. Jyotisha- Jyotisha deals with the astronomical and astrological aspects of fixing auspicious date and time to perform various Vedic rites and rituals including the sacraments or rites of passage. The auspicious time is usually determined based on the position of the luminous bodies (jyotis) namely the sun, the moon, the stars and other heavenly bodies. 6. Kalpa- Kalpa deals with the practical, ceremonial, sacrificial and ritual aspect of the Vedas. Technically it is the applied science of the Vedas. The method and the manner in which the sacrificial ceremonies and daily household rituals have to be performed are established in a compendium of sutras or aphorisms known as Kalpa Sutras, categorized together as shruti literature. Kalpa literally means sacred rule or law, or ordinance and sutra means a thread. To quote from one of the references below: The Jyotisha of today is wider in scope and purpose than the original Jyotisha of Vedic period. It is now divided into several branches and subbranches and cater to a wider audience for purposes other than performing Vedic ceremonies. Once considered to be an ancillary subject, the astrology of today is a profession by itself often practiced by people having little understanding of the Vedas and the Vedangas. I always thought that there has to be a way to inform about any significant destiny changing events to the mankind from the divine so that he can plan for contingencies. For this reason, I tend to think that the divinity is using the Jyotis or the space canvas with celestial bodies as a medium to inform on the significant events and time that is coming up in the event horizon. When we look at the space, we are only seeing (after a lapse) a past rendition of the surrounding celestial bodies. But when you consider this in the perspective of Jyotisha- it means those renditions are signalling something about the future to the mankind that we are observing in the present! What a unique way to tie past, present and future! To make Jothisha Sastra more relevant the following needs to be done: 1. With divine blessing, this body of knowledge showed be researched and developed and combined in line with the modern knowledge collection and dissemination systems. Care should be taken enough since this is considered as an esoteric subject and not pure science hence and solid faith and divine blessings are essential. Ideally, a faith based religious/spiritual organization may find more success in exploring this body of knowledge than the scientific institutions. 2. The true professionals of this Shastra should help the general public to identify the quacks from the real ones. The practice should be formalized and properly institutionalized. 3. Since, the karmic load of a person/group is ADHRSTA, negative speculation of future happenings should be avoided at least in the context of a single person. 4. I believe that certain personal effort towards mantra-chanting, sacraments, rituals and worshipping can strengthen the ICCAHA SAKTHI and can help imbibe this divine knowledge better. The strength built in such a manner which helps to master this knowledge is diminished by unintended but laterally induced bad karma due to negative speculations. 5. Such Jyotisha Sastra induced speculations can be amply supported by divine intuition related practices such as Prasannam, Nimitaa Sastra etc., which also should be properly researched and developed with divine blessings and solid faith. Here again, ideally, a faith based religious/spiritual organization may find more success in exploring this body of knowledge than the scientific institutions. We have to remind ourselves that this kind of Nimitaa Sastra can be having an ancient origin and may take different forms like use of cowries in Hinduism or use of tarot cards else where. The study has to be done both in a religious sense and in a spiritualistic sense. - 70. A Spiritualist's view on Mind Manipulations, Information and Psychological Warfares
Let me start with some insight into the spend on cybersecurity operations. Quoting from the References: In 2023, spending in the cybersecurity industry reached around 80 billion U.S. dollars, with forecasts suggesting that the market will eclipse 87 billion U.S. dollars by 2024. Global spending on cybersecurity has been increasing since 2021. The belief is that ‘Data is the new holy grail’! and hence for all the right reasons, including to avoid existential crisis, organizations and governments are spending millions as protective, proactive measures. And hence, believe me – this spend on cybersecurity is going to be raising in coming years to epic proportions! Now I picture this – EXAMPLE-1: Person A sees a picture of a guy in a local meat shop. Possible interpretation by A: The guy has come to buy food for his family etc., Assume that while looking at this picture, A hears an audible smirk. Possible interpretation by A: This guy has come to buy food for his family, and he is likely to be cheated Assume that while looking at this picture, A hears a cursing word. Possible interpretation by A: This guy has come to buy food for his family, but he is not sensitive about the poor and hungry. I will give another example: EXAMPLE-2: A local community decides to build a school in their community. Every body agrees and are happy with the decision. A business man, pitches its idea - that instead of a park, a warehouse can be built that can generate employment opportunities for the locals. (what kind of bias forms in the mind at the word 'business man'?) A community group led by a real estate magnet, says it is better to build a shopping complex. (what kind of bias forms in the mind at the word 'real estate magnet'?) A local politician, advised by a lobby group, wants to enhance the local economy and thinks of building a industrial estate with warehouses and shopping complexes in it. (what kind of bias forms in the mind at the word 'politician'?) Everybody decides to vote and then there is no clear majority! The plan is shelved temporarily for a year or two. And the kids continue their trip to the nearby neighbourhood schools. Despite the 'bias' mentioned above, why is there an impediment?! So on and so forth. What are we witnessing? Mind manipulations, information and psychological war fares being launched at one’s sub-conscious mind not only by the hidden criminal minds but also by others who are plying their trade through various media. A combination of subconscious inputs coming through varied media outlets, also distorts the perception (This is dangerous!). Reinforcing, repetitive such events, builds an alternative unviable or unacceptable belief system inside an ordinary person! Are we letting the people life their life in an unchained manner? Who may be doing this? AI technologies like recommendation engines, ‘customers also bought’ options. These technologies should be 'off' by default. Paid social media, TV channels and cinemas. Instead of the government, business houses and ideological organizations own the media houses with possible profit as a motive. At least some of these options should be genuinely owned by those wishing people all the goodness. Goodbye to - good olden days that gave us well researched/carefully thought articles without bias! Lobbying agents pushing for policy changes via carefully curating politicians and by planting advertisements and television episodes (even sometimes scenes are carefully set to push a hidden agenda). Hiring celebrities and using their popularity to push products or any such. This is akin to sending messages to you that you would avoid normally by targeting your subconscious mind. (the celebrity you like, anchors your mind and the message that you would normally avoid gets sent to your subconscious mind) Sometimes alternate ideologies, cultural changes and more are pushed inside your minds through any media that you may come by - say even from ad boards in the train station! Bias and selective hearing aggravates this condition. If you are a serious spiritualist, you have to avoid this dangerous and deep pit fall. If you are allowing yourselves to be manipulated by others, especially by targeting your subconsciousness, then, in a spiritual sense, you are still a primitive and not ready. What is the antidote for this condition? For Individuals – Be highly individualistic and make sure the choices you accept are validated by your own in-built value systems. Read a lot, be a polymath, be gentle and open. if possible, travel and widen your knowledge horizon. Believe in reinforcement learning – and if any subject touches you deeply, know about it from multiple sources. Sometimes – enjoy seclusion and meditate. Sometimes, get cured in the lap of mother nature. Be connected to arts, music, reading and if possible – writing too. (I have personally experienced the fact that, you gain lot more clarity when you put your thoughts as words). Stay away from over exposure to media and settle for talking with your genuine friends. Whatever be your profession – give it your 100% and enrich your understanding of this profession in each passing day. Be mindful about evolution and involution in a single life! Don’t be a net consumer – give it back to the society in some form. For groups – Invest in building appropriate value systems in children at schools. Control your media and technology products, responsibly, and not be only profit minded. Identify eminent and genuine personalities and give them limelight in the society. Remove social evils like lobbying if the people’s will and interests are being violated in the process and that tends to make, democracy a laughingstock. Impart psychological principles and modus operandi of manipulating agents (as individuals or as groups) as part of fundamental learning to help make people be aware of mind manipulating techniques, information and psychological war fares. Build policies and laws favouring the general public and aimed at thwarting any media-based content dissemination that is altering their state of mind (without them knowing or noticing) in a negative way as part of ensuring and upholding ‘Freedom of Choice”. Common man is not a sophisticated person – hence the informed and well learned decision makers should make sure the group policies support them in their ‘Freedom of Choice”. This is because – each man, has to live life to the fullest extent using his own “FREE WILL”. Any direct or indirect mind-bending techniques is nothing but a CRIME that is not acknowledged by existent legal systems. Hence, even technology-based systems and media should give the common man a choice to redeem his free will under all circumstances and that should be effort less to do. Reduce the information overload (especially technology aided) on senior citizens and make their life a lot more less stressful. For example, When they need help, they need a human to speak to, not some advanced voice activated automated systems! A person who is subjected to such persistent sub-conscious assault (he may have a penchant for a stream of content of a particular genre, or he may be a generalist), – instead of becoming a flowery bush, he eventually becomes something like a thorny/flowery bush and finally into a withering thorny bush!! We are all giving so much thought and consideration for cybersecurity because the money involved in launching attacks or to counter it runs into billions. Money makes it count! What about this large scale, psychological damages or impairments or impediments being set (though, perhaps sometimes - no harm in really intended!) to general public in a subtle and/or overt way ? Shouldn’t we take our mental health seriously? - 65.My Perspective as an Omnist
Omnist’ is relatively a new word arising in the early 18th century. I consider myself to be an omnist because I believe that there are lots of good religions espousing good principles and support open mindedness and is full of good people. I also believed that a religion is culture induced, and spiritualism stands for universal truths and ways of workings of the universe. Quoting from the References: An omnist is a person who believes in all faiths or creeds, recognizing that each religion contains elements of truth. They adhere to the philosophy of omnism , which posits that no single faith has an absolute monopoly on spiritual reality, and that all religions possess unique aspects of wisdom. Omnists are characterized by their open-mindedness and respect for diverse religious traditions. How an antagonist or protagonist or the divine energy is named in different religious and spiritual texts may be different. My home religion is “Hinduism” and I am proud of its profoundness, reach and accomplishments. For example, In Hinduism, the divine manifestation is mentioned as ‘Adi Para Sakthi’ and is recognized as a divine feminine energy. Please refer to my article on Maya on our inner faculties at - https://www.mayoan.com/post/38-work-of-maya-in-our-inner-faculties . Quoting from the above article- If we look at the state of our ancient literature, we can understand how a very determined force of the antagonist in the role of an historian, philosopher or statesman or such can weave a Maya that stays unremoved for thousands of years! May the forces of the protagonist win and remove this kind of Maya to spread truth and enlightenment. For the antagonist, one of the most effective ways to create divisive and inimical forces is to create differences. Differences can arise in the form of races, languages, cultures, religions, beliefs, regional affiliations etc., We, as advanced and intelligent souls, should defeat this intention to use differences to foster issues and mistrusts and instead use the differences to foster innovation, acceptance and enrichment. In this process, we have to defeat all 3 modes of the antagonist forces- misinformation, mal-information and hiding of the truths. As an omnist we should respect all good religions and good spiritual practices. I feel the same respect and adoration when I enter a church or a Buddhist vihara as when I enter a Hindu temple of Adi-Para Sakthi. At the same time, we should expect the same respect for our religion that we show for the other religions as the tenets of any religion is deriving from the underlying culture of the region. By having an open mind, we do not close many of the intellectual stimulations that can come from respecting other cultures and religions. The term 'Hindu' is a term coined by the British for the majority of the native people when they arrived in India and established their rule. Before that the term used was 'Sanatana Dharma' - this is not a proper 'nounified' name! It simply means - 'The Eternal Way' and is considered as representing a very open minded spiritualism. - 68. My Perspective on the Same Sex Social Status
It is generally perceived that, Garbo Upanishad by Sage Pippalada is a minor Upanishad. But I disagree. The true content of this phenomenal literary work is lost in time and needs to be recovered and processed to fully understand its contribution. For me, this literary work may be holding the key to understand what happens in the Prakruti and for a recently deceased soul when it transgresses from death to another birth, assuming its karmic load is preventing it from ascending to heavens. I also believe that the consideration as a minor Upanishad should not be made based on the length of the content but on the weight of its true content. This is also true in case of another Upanishad – The Mandukya Upanishad, which too like Garbo Upanishad is considered minor based on its length, but when read by an intelligent mind, behaves like a bolt from the sky - releasing enormous amount of grandeur. These contents may shock us for a long time! There is another reason why the true contents of the Garbo Upanishad and any similar related ancient texts should be recovered if possible. They try to also solve the purported social issues related to the acceptance of same sex couples in the society by dropping essential hints on the natural processes related to the (human) soul entering a womb. I would like to mention that I am a straight heterosexual person. But I like to have an unbiased mindset. I constantly lookout for universal truths and righteousness to being in peace and bring acceptance to my mind. From the above-mentioned texts, that too in incomplete parts, I understand, and I try to connect the dots and complete the logical picture about what happens to the soul looking out for a new womb. The following is considered to be true: In humans, only the gross physical body (Sthula Sharira) has the sexual organ. And the mind, considered to be part of the dimension-1 universe, takes the identity of a male or female based on the predisposition at birth. The astral body or ghost body (Sukshma Sharira) is transient body and will not support the basic functions of eating, sleeping and fornicating. Hence ghost assumes the identity as male or female only based on the legacy status of the mind when it was hosted still in a living body. The Soul (Karana Sharira) is asexual. It only stores impressions, and these impressions can be from any of the past lives, in which the soul might have born as a male or female or anything else. A soul can have an overwhelming sense of masculinity and hence will have the tendency to be born as a male. Similarly, a soul can have an overwhelming sense of femininity and hence will have the tendency to be born as a female. Similarly the soul may have no overwhelming sense of masculinity or femininity and may have the tendency to be born as anything that it wants to be at the time of fusion to the egg/embryo. Super souls and advanced souls try to be born in the same sex as when they were existing in the higher realms or in their previous births. They also do not change their preference about their natural sexual orientation when they appear as avatars. Sometimes, overwhelming karmic loads can make a soul to be born as a male or a female. Sometimes, the surrounding group karmic influence (say a soul being born in a society that prefers male child), or some remnant past boons/curses/rules etc., can make a soul to be born as a male or a female. Some super souls may have personal preferences to be born as a male or a female or anything else based on the planned goals and objectives of the intended avatar. For some souls, they may have a slightly majority inclination towards masculinity and for some souls, they may have a slightly majority inclination towards femininity. In either of the case, and at the time of fusion to the egg, the Garbo Upanishad says that they get a glimpse of the male/female pairs that are/were in sexual union intending to cause the fusion of the soul to the egg/embryo (there is still some confusion around the time of fusion of the soul to the egg/embryo). At time, the soul may show a preference or likeness for either the male or the female. We have to note that for some advanced and super souls this preference is preset due to their legacy preference of sexual orientation. Based on the above context, the following, but less probable, outcomes may happen: 1. A soul which is to be born as male may have a liking for the male of the fused pair and hence, they may end up as a male having gay sexual orientation. 2. A soul which is to be born as female may have a liking for the female of the fused pair and hence, they may end up as a female having lesbian sexual orientation. 3. The other states of LGBTQ+ can be explained based on the degree of liking that the fusing soul may have on the male or female or both, that caused the fusion. But what we have to be looking at in these outcomes is that these cases have slightly lesser probability of occurrence as nature seems to prefer heterosexuality. Also, IVF is a relatively new procedure and I believe that the soul may still witness the involved male and female, at some stage while fusing with the embryo. I have no issues with accepting this natural process induced sexual orientations and the society should accept them for their natural tendency and extend equal rights and other perks that a normal citizen of the state receives. There cannot be any persecutions for their natural preferences. But if the sexual orientation is set through some artificial process, say for instance by a sub-culture existing in places of gathering such as dorms, it takes a poisonous propensity. It leads to an abnormal state of the society where, say for example, more men may become gays while the women stay normal! Then this state of the society becomes a silent and gathering storm leading to decadency and other untellable problems. Let us have the highest respect for the natural processes and let the natural tendencies stay natural and let us not let anybody/any-group mess with that through artificial and abnormal sub-cultures! - 69. My Perspective on Abortion as a Medical Practice
If not a super soul or an advanced soul, the state of being an ordinary ‘soul’ is full of disquiet and/or suffering. There are perhaps a greater number of yet to be born souls, in this universe, than there are number of species’ of any kind! The pressure to be born is immense! Consider this. Humans are now considered to be the apex species. There are perhaps trillions of souls wishing to be birthed through any womb in general and human female womb in particular as the power to think, ideate and discriminate in a human, may lead to ‘Mukthi’ or eternal salvation – a state, free from any suffering and/or disquiet. When such is the ‘sacred’ state of the human female’s womb/birth-canal, evil and abnormal practices like FGM should be penalized and stopped as mark of respect for the human females. Also, we should stop even condescendingly dishonouring them and accord them equal status in all walks of life, since they are likely to go through their 2nd or more, painful births during the delivery of her child(ren) from her womb! Another powerful reason why they should be integrated into all the important decision-making bodies – private or government- is this motherly tendency- a tendency that, I believe, is still untouched by any antagonists or his/her stooges. Human females can play the perfect balance to the exaggerated machismo stereotypes that we see in this world. In fact, I believe that if they have been accorded equal status in the truest possible sense, the world would not have witnessed this many wars and events like nuclear explosions. The pressure to be born is met with resistance from the natural order that is mindful of the resources that are available to feed a growing population. Either it will use cataclysmic events to restore balance or push the waiting souls into the wombs of relatively lower (with a penchant to consume lesser resources) but karmically matching orders of species’. So, for all the above important reasons and more, we have to take a deeper look at the abortion as a standard medical procedure. Consider the below points: The human embryo starts developing the nervous system around the 3rd-4th week of the pregnancy signalling its capacity to understand pain. (assuming the soul has fused by now) The soul in the embryo will have impressions that it has entered a womb and destroying that embryo is akin to killing it though it is not fully formed! Garbo Upanishad says that the soul in certain advanced pregnancy state, is likely to get some visions/impressions of its past suffering and is likely to start repenting its past ‘sinful’ lives, if any, and pray to divinity - to let it be born and that it will take, all care, to not lead another sinful and wasteful life!! These embryos can detect any danger and is likely to scream in the ‘Madhyama’ mode (refer to the human vak system blog) if it senses any danger and it is likely to be cursing and crying once it understands the outcome. It goes through a resenting period full of great sorrow, as its much-awaited birthing is being terminated abnormally! Garbo Upanishad says, at the time of birth (either when the child’s head is coming through the birth canal or when at a suitable stage of the relatively newer C-section procedure) , a kind of special prana called – Vaishnava Prana, rises up from the base of the skull and passes out through the crown, only once – thus wiping out all the past knowledge and memories returning the child to its blank state except for its basic intuitions. It even forgets its sorrowful state when it was in the womb. The passing of this prana is likely to be the reason why sometimes the child is expressing crying as a first action after birth. In extremely rare cases, this wiping is not done completely, and the child either shows extraordinary intelligence for its young age or very rarely, it can even remember past lives! Thus, abortion adds negative karma to the couples involved and adds negative karma to the group karmic load for the society that allows abortion as a very liberal and standard practice. This is made worse, if the society does not, take a strong moral stand against abortions and also not have some sort of critical evaluation system to judge the termination itself before allowing it. Thus, abortions should be allowed only for the most deserving cases. Hence as a responsible society, the law makers, doctors, parents and community elders, should take a critical moral stand on the need for abortion. They should permit it only when all other options are exhausted and that the abortion procedure is considered a must for the girl (or her partner) to continue living a normal life. Appropriate sex education, anti-pregnancy (disabling the sperm and/or egg through medication and thus removing its potency to form embryos) preventive care etc., should be made known as part of formal sex-education and the process to trigger it should be formally institutionalized with perhaps more than one approvals. At the same time, young ones should be made known the relatively high, financial and moral costs of getting into a pregnancy and then later needing it to be terminated. There should be appropriate deterrent punitive measures that are well publicised. Women opting for abortion, especially the young ones, should not have a very lenient/liberal view about the abortion procedure such as – ‘just a little time spent in the clinic to remove an inconvenience and nothing more’! They should stay sensitized on the negative side of abortions. Finally, please refer to my article on 'The Essential Divine Blessing' - https://www.mayoan.com/post/47-the-essential-divine-blessing . Procedures like IVF and C-sections, were perhaps developed without the the spiritual guidance and blessings or perhaps it was considered adequately. These procedures- either when they were conceived or when they are practised in the hospitals, needs to be blessed spiritually by invoking the divine attention by appropriate prayers and sacraments. The divine attention is likely to remove any seen/unseen obstacles and dangers that can manifest in such endeavours. It is also expected to look at the unseen aspects and smoothen any problems/issues and escalations in the endeavour and complete it perfectly in every sense possible. Simply put - Humans can never beat nature generally and specifically so in simulated processes as in genetically modified crops, cloning, IVF and C-sections. Consider this simple example- A person wants to travel from a place A to a place B. He can pray before travelling or he can choose not to. Without the essential divine blessing: He gets the ticket - may be at a higher price and he completes the travel in an uneventful manner. With the essential divine blessing: He gets the ticket at a lower price. The seat is comfortable and is a window seat. The next passenger is able to help him with his new job search. The rain prediction did not come true. He met his childhood friend on the way when he opted to go to a restaurant to complete his lunch. And so on and so forth. I hope the above message is received appropriately. Hari Om!
- 66. My Perspective on the Reincarnation Process
Reincarnation is also a fundamental tenant of the universe – very much like free-will, Law of Karma, Adi Para Sakthi and the other 3 types of energy, Time, Space, Panchabhootas (mass related), Andakaranas (inner faculties), Soul etc., Reincarnation is the process by which the accumulated/unspent fruits of action(sometimes in thoughts/sometimes in action), called as Karma, in a particular birth, push the soul, at the current death of the physical form, to take birth in a certain form matching with the capabilities that will help the soul expend its current load of Prarabdha Karma in the shortest time possible. In the context of the Reincarnation, we should know the below points: Currently, the peak of the evolution is the human species and hence all the progressions through various reincarnations (species), ideally end up in a human form, after which, the soul is supposed to get higher and finer intelligence and enlightenment and start/progress-along the involution process finally leading to ‘Mukthi’ or the ultimate liberation. A human life can be considered as well lived, even if he/she is not able to ascend to heavens (!), and he/she is able to be born as a human again in his/her next birth! Please consider the following dialogue that supposedly happened in the past between a Sangam poet (Avvaiyar) and Lord Murugan – a Tamil deity: Lord Murugan Asks: Avvaiyare, what is rare? Avvaiyar: Rare it is! Rare it is! To be born a human is most venerable; even more revered is to be born as a human without a hump on the back, blindness, deafness or sickness. Also rare is to have the free will to seek knowledge, to learn and to have the ability to do charity/help others. There is the ‘Path of Ascendence’, which holds those intelligent beings including certain animals, birds, marine-animals and plants (using both our spiritual/scientific intelligence, we need to investigate more to get this list) which are likely to be born into a human form upon a well lived life. There is this ‘Path of Descendance’, which holds those beings that can naturally accept a soul that was previously in the human form. Such human forms might have lived a sub-optimal life, including excessive indulgences in the basic activities (food, sleep, sex) or a life full of violence and bad karmas. These species in the ‘Path of Descendance’ might be thriving with those activities that was done excessively by the departed human soul. The ‘Law of Karma’ may think that the departed sub-optimal human soul neither has learnt its lesson nor is content with whatever was done excessively and hence it de-promotes the soul and forces it into a species where the overindulgences can be experienced to the point of saturation. At the point of saturation, it takes the next in line higher birth in a higher form! Animals/Birds/Plants/Marine species that die as food to other life forms take a higher form of birth in its next life. Ideally those species that become non-vegetarian foods should be located neither from the ‘Path of Ascendance’ nor from the ‘Path of Descendance’. Humans- especially those who are non-vegetarian should focus on knowing the traits of those animals/birds/marine-animals before deciding to consume them. Such animals/birds/marine-animals that are butchered for food should be given all decent levels of living experiences up until its final moments. I strongly de-test any mechanized/automated execution methods for these butchered species. Sometimes, due to divine intervention or by accidents, or by the way of experiencing deaths, a lower ranked species can skip rank and hierarchy and take the form of a higher species. Similarly, due to divine curse, or by accidents or by the way of living and accumulating bad karma, a higher ranked species can skip rank and hierarchy and take the form of a lower species. It is very much like a deadly game of ‘Snakes and Ladders’! I always emphasize that the ‘Law of Karma’ is brutal in dispensing justice! It may not be a fairy tale indeed if a man becomes a frog or vice-versa! If the humans, as a species, out of arrogance coming from their superior status, continues with their exploitation of this planet with gross disregard to the other species and/or do not take care of their over-indulgences and overflowing bad karmas (individual and group), the divine energy aided amply by Law of Karma may eventually downgrade their apex status. Thus, instead of progression the human species will wake up in the path of regression and decline. (We should not forget our hunter gatherer fore-fathers!). At the same time, some other marine or land or sky species may take lead amply aided by the divine energy and ‘Law of Karma’! Not knowing certain things is different from knowing and continuing with the same! Certain higher and finer souls including the protagonist takes birth again and again to restore justice and truth. These wars could have been or is still being fought in the physical (evolution) and mental(involution) realms. To prove a point and to strengthen the ‘Law of Karma’, these higher and finer souls will go through forced births including being born in lower order of species, experiencing the worst travails of life and still prevailing as a noble existence. Sometimes, even if they are born in the higher species, they may be forced to be born with impaired mental and physical capabilities. But, despite grave odds and travails, they will prove their noble worth eventually and thus strengthen the 'Law of Karma'. In all their, avatars or reincarnations, these higher and finer souls will be seen in pursuit-of-excellence! If the protagonist and his team win, every body in the universe wins and hence the divine energy will be in a state of bliss, mercy and effulgence! Till the antagonist is fully vanquished, certain vile and diabolic souls take birth again and again to turn the universal order to chaos and mayhem-, in both the physical (evolution) and mental(involution) realms. Sometimes, these vile and diabolic souls may be escaping the ‘Law of karma’ only because of any remaining ICCHA SAKTHI possessed by the antagonist and his team. Nevertheless, eventually the ‘Law of Karma’ catches up! These demonic forces is always keen to change how the 'Law of Karma' evaluates us. They want the 'Law of Karma' to accept their way of life as the right way of life! I shiver to think what if that happens - a universe filled with bloodlust, violence and gore with scant or no regards to the females in general and no place/safety/honor or a decent status for a human female in specific! If the antagonist and his team win, only those with power (self or through command), wealth and status will be apparently in control and most of the rest of the universe will be in gloom and despair and thus the state of the divine energy will be disturbed, and in disparity and darkness! In such a state of darkness, rather than species' being in pursuit of excellence, we may witness overindulgences in activities considered as giving extreme pleasures - including and not limited to the basic activities (food, sleep and sex). Again these basic activities take on distorted and diabolic forms such as - Food -> increased non-vegetarianism, rise of cannibalism, interest in tamasic consumptions etc., Sleep -> sleep depravations, drug induced intoxications, rise in alcohol consumption etc., Sex - orgies and all other unacceptable forms of sexual activities such as sadomasochism. Unacceptable combinations of any of the above 2 or all 3 or its derivatives may surface leading to loss of faith in the goodness of the universe. But I strongly believe that with all the trials and tribulations of noble souls of this universe, the 'Law of Karma' has taken a clear and decisive stand to support the right dharma and hence I also believe that the wheels of the 'Law of Karma' is slowly grinding the ICCHA SAKTHI or any other forms of sakthi seen supporting the antagonist and his/her teams, to dust!
