15. A Concern on AI Outcomes - Part 3

Where can AI outperform humans? What are the beneficial aspects of AI tech?

15. A Concern on AI Outcomes - Part 3

I have written about my concerns on AI technology in my blogs –

https://www.mayoan.com/technology/02.--a-concern-on-ai-outcomes

Mainly I was worried about the hinderances, and obstacles created by AI tech to the process of in-pursuit of excellence by humans and the related normal brain development functions.

I was also worried about job losses to reckless automations, human efforts directed to AI generated or aided innovations. I was worried about impact to related content generations by natural human innovations and capabilities and related organic growth of human thinking and development. I was also worried about the impact to the development and growth of mind-body complex of the human system.

I thought this is time to express what may work and be acceptable. Though I have my concerns expressed on the outcomes of AI technology, I am not an outright ‘dooms dayer’ in that regard.

It is better to first, understand the 30,000-foot view of this gigantic tech-landscape a bit. There are broad classes of AI tech covering classing modelling, Visual and Imaging AI, GenAI, Agentic AI, Omni AI etc.,

In most of these classes, there may be elements of functioning that is readily acceptable.

If we look at some of the reports in the reference section, the strategic application of AI tech for successful business outcomes focusses on gaining efficiency on organizational processes, building innovations and in improving customer experience. Again, with respect to the stakeholders point of view in recent times, the trust on AI configurations is something like the below numbers:

1.      Humans assisted by AI – 41% trusted (this comes under Agentic AI class of solutions)

2.      AI overseen by humans – 37% trusted

3.      Humans only – 15% trusted

4.      AI Only – 7% trusted

Also, looking at the ai manifesto (like ‘the agile manifesto’), lot of concerns are taken care. There are focusses on regulations and compliance and use of responsible AI. I have expressed an idea where, the 3-pillared constitution framework, regulates and controls the class of jobs that should be permitted to be paired with AI tech in a partial or full mode. This should be driven by SMEs who study the impact of AI on human development/endeavour and economic impacts including but not limited to job losses only. A sensible government may not allow the job losses arising out of reckless AI deployment when an economic program such as “Universal Basic Income” and the concept of “Vashudevakudumbakam” are not properly understood, implemented or integrated into the national/global economy.

Humans are not geared to process huge quantity of overwhelming data streams. So, the idea of parsing information and knowledge from the underlying data to aid in human functions is a classic positive outcome of AI tech. This parsed information and knowledge is to be presented in human readable formats and here is where the GenAI tech shines. The correlating and context building capabilities of a given context can be amply aided by AI tech to discover new areas of issues/solutions/case-managements/R&D etc., Thus, when it comes to summarizing and understanding the humongous historical and past data, humans just cannot beat the AI tech.

As part of a human or a group - ‘in-pursuit of excellence’ paradigm, this adoption of AI tech is a positive aspect as long as it is neither affecting the normal organic human development nor is affecting the economic sustenance/growth aspects.

I have written about formative years of humans and groups in the blogs below:

https://www.mayoan.com/post/15-formative-years-of-a-human

https://www.mayoan.com/post/21-the-formative-years-of-a-group

As part of civilizational growth, even new innovations and technologies go through the formative stages with its own problems and control issues as part of group dynamics.

And I have also written about the demons, unleased by humans, that they are not able to control properly, in the below blog:

https://www.mayoan.com/economy/26.-super-demons-created-by-mankind

I am very concerned that , this adoption of AI tech which is in its formative years, should not become another super demon unleased by humans. By careful drafting of government policies and with controls like regulations and compliance strictures, this can be definitely avoided.

The divine Adi Parasakthi is infinitely capable and resourceful. If human endeavours like this are not properly directed, and if they result in the reduction of sum total of intelligence for the group and prevent the proper moulding of human individuals for a prolonged period, then she may feel the need to promote an alternate species to be the top performer and predator. Already, currently there is a perception that humans are the main reasons for depleting valuable economic resources, at an unprecedented and reckless, scale and manner with a gross neglect/insensitivity towards the other cohabitant species' of this world.
