What are great commits?

For example,

For a musician, it is his finest pieces of compositions.

For a student, it is his finest grades and his degrees and diplomas.

For a scientist, it is his rewards and recognitions and so on and so forth…

Also,

For a musician it can be his training and skills on a guitar,

For a student, it can be his well-written essays.

For a scientist, it can be his research paper or how he guides a Ph.D. student…

So, whatever you put your soul and heart into and with mindboggling skills/knowledge/efforts and/or time to a create a product or a service or an outcome, that is generally perceived as an excellent work by knowledgeable public is a great commit!!

Now let us talk about cycles. What cycles are we talking about?

It is the cycle of birth and death in general and in particular I am talking about cycles set by customs, culture, habits and characters of individuals and groups. Even more importantly I am referring to unwanted cycles of birth and death set up by unwanted underground cultures, habits and characters!

Some fictitious but not-impossible examples are –

Consider a family tradition of illegal lumbar jacking – where one of the woodcutters (is human now) and post his death, his karma makes him be born as a tree in a different realm or a continent! Say, the tree is a benevolent species and supports all other under growths and hosts birds and animals in its branches, then by karma, the tree post its death, may be reborn again as a human, possibly in the same region (to give him a chance to redeem or to check if he is going back to his past business). If a clan or a tribe is doing the illegal tree felling business as part of its living tradition for a considerable period of time, then the divine Adi Para Sakthi sees the need for a cycle to maintain efficiency and effectiveness in the cosmic dance of births and deaths! The result may be something like dead trees are reborn into the clan and the dead clan members are reborn as the trees. If the frenzy of tree-felling driven by madness for money picks up, then the cycle also picks up in strength and volume.

Also, as a compensation, those souls that suffer terrible end, is blessed with a higher birth in its next birth-cycle, by the law of karma. This is also one of the reasons as why animals reared for meat are religiously blessed before culling. The corollary is also true – the person causing the terrible death, especially if that practice is out of line with the currently existing value systems of the society and/or is illegal may face a not-so-good future.

Another example could be the drug business. This is large and has the strength of the member population and is also illegal and funnelling a horrendous amount of criminal activities and is clearly out of line with the society values. This illegal business is also devastating a vast population consisting of all ages. This is a typical condition for a negative birth and death cycle to start in that mafia organization.

We may also find such negative cycles in animals, birds and marine creatures. This is because a multitude of creatures may be showing excessive cruelty (some cats/snakes/seals etc.,) to its target.

How can we expend karma to land safely next time? I have written this blog (https://www.mayoan.com/post/57-some-simple-ways-of-expending-karmas) that talks about expending karma as a human and what I have mentioned in that blog is not an exhaustive list. There are sufferings all over this planet and in the universe and we should help resolve them as much as possible as gentle citizens of this world and start our count of good karmas and great commits.

Please remember that, if, unfortunately, a soul is stuck in a negative cycle of birth and death, one or more great commits is/are a sure-shot way of exiting the negative cycle. A balancing good karma can do the same.

But how many souls (caught in a negative cycle), other than humans - do you think is capable of thinking/self-analyzing and be self-aware ? We always underestimate being born as a human and without a lot of deep reflective thinking, we do not appreciate our existence properly, Hope this will change with the right kind of education and awareness.
